Merci Beacoup

Feels so happy, I got a femine parfume and yummy chocolate as well as a key chain from my aunty and beautiful cousine who lives in France.

image

I also got a pack of a yummy Galette des Rois whish is a special cake most served by the French tradition as a frangipane filled tart known as the ’galette des rois’ (or the ’gateau des rois’ in the South of France) on, or around the 6th January, (the first Sunday of each New Year) actually dates back to the 14th century.

image

image

In French, the festival takes place around Epiphany, the twelfth day of Christmas, when the wise men visited baby Jesus. According to tradition, the ‘galette des rois’, was to “draw the kings” to the Epiphany.

It goes rather well with a cup of tea or a glass or two of white wine. It is traditionally divided into enough portions for all the people present plus one more for the first poor person that passes by. A lucky charm (une fève – originally a bean but now more often a plastic trinket) is baked inside the galette, and whoever receives the fève is crowned king or queen for the day. It is the perfect opportunity to invite family and friends or maybe get together with those neighbours you haven’t yet met!

YUMMY CAKE and lovely to know others traditions from their food.

Indonesia also has lot’s of tradition food. And it variants from differents part of Indonesia.. I’ll write down some later especially Kapurung, coto Makassar and others yummy meals from Indonesia, coz today, all about French…

Judgemental Moment

Perempuan macam apa dia? Sekolah tinggi-tinggi tetap saja nyambangi suami orang. Emang udah gak laku  yah?

twitpic 2

“Wahai orang-orang beriman! Jika datang kepadamu orang fasik yang membawa sesuatu berita, maka telitilah kebenarannya, agar kamu tidak mencelakakan suatu kaum kerana kebodohan(kejahilan), yang akhirnya kamu menyesali perbuatanmu itu.”

(Q.S.Al Hujurat. 6)

(An Nur 15)

“Semoga Allah senantiasa memberimu petunjuk dan meneguhkan lisanmu. Jika pihak berperkara menghadap kepadamu, maka jangan sekali-kali memutuskan perkara tanpa mendengar kedua belah pihak.

Be fair for your own good!

How come not choosing you?

It might be funny for some people, but get me frustrating after reading one of the article from Kompas (3/1). In the rubric of political participation, there is a short article en-tittle “Masa Gak Milih Loe” which means how come not choosing you.

The article describes a statement of doctor Karina Moegni above, in relations with 2014 Indonesian General Election. She and her friend, Sisca ensuring to vote and already registered for East Jakarta participants.

Image

But they looked surprised after finding out that there are 6,600 candidates of House Representatives Member to choose, whom participate for the election 2014.  They had started questioning about the candidate’s behavioral, where they were afraid for the corruptions candidate after the elections, like once their experienced.

The more unpredictable information was when it explained that some of the candidates had been questioning about their organizational background. What a shocking was they answered it based upon their ‘arisan’ or regular social gathering experienced. Is it a real organization pusposes?

Image

According to Sisca, usually before the election, some of the names that circulate in the context of family relationship and acquaintance. Mostly they would be elected. As they are also part of the Indonesian actresses, they do not wonder so many artists elected to become a board members. “They have their fans and famous in the society for sure,” said Karina.

I was not surprise to read this article, only irritating knowing that some female candidates are in that position just to meet the quota of women in elections.

Image

I agreed with Jusuf Kalla (JK) in once of his speech that whoever in the candidate positions should well known and popular in their social life. People tend to believe based upon the person not the party anymore. Besides, the difference between nationalism and religious has eroded.

For JK, the election is like love strategy. Women required to talk and communicate with the community down to the bottom. They are expected to understand and practice the love strategy, first popularity or pursue the fame, and second likability or make them feel for the love, and for the last elect ability, build their believe to choose you.

So women, be elected with your dignity… !

Image

And for those who has right to vote, please use your voice wisely, try to find more information about your intended representatives and select more carefully. We are all wait for the brighter future with the election 2014.

Email PNS Satu Pintu, Efektifkah?

Dari koran Fajar, korannya Sulawesi Selatan (2/1), saya membaca laporan tentang peraturan yang dikeluarkan pemerintah pusat tentang pemberlakuan aturan baru terkait aktivitas e-mail atau surat elektronik bagi para pegawai negeri sipil (PNS).

Image

“Termasuk layanan e-mail,” katanya.

Do You Dare?

I can’t sleep. All I think was about my big day. How will it be? How will I looked like? How’s everything will organized?

It keep spinning around in my head. When will it be? Where will it be held? How it will be? About the date, about the dressess, about the ring, about the venue, about the caterer, about the invitation, about the souvenir, about the processes, everything comes in once.

I can’t stop thinking about it untill I can’t sleep. I keep search and googling, looking for the unique, elegance and ‘very me’ design and motives. Saved some interesting figures for further choices.

But than I realise, who will be standing next to me? Do you dare?

image

The wedding will not just about you and me, but about uniting the two big family of us both. It’s about acceptance and togetherness as well as dignity. I will not only belongs to you but to your family as well, and it will applied to you either.

All plans has been set up, already figured how I want it be. It’s also been calculated and un-negotiable hihihihi unless it depends on who is the whisperer 😀

Many memories left behind and I’m willing not to forget
Since the moment we shared together ’till we apart by the circumstances
It was the best moment ever, happened in my life
Knowing you is precious, meeting you is treasure

Forget me not oh my distance friend
It’s a still do part of my life
Everytime I look back to time we were spent together
The way we laughed of a funny thing
The way we cried for the sadness thing
The way we shared for every stories
The way we comment on each other’s partner
The way we sneezed behind someones back
The way we giggled after teasing someone

Forget me not oh my distance friend
No matter where are you now
No matter how they treated you after the vow
Because thou you far from me
You are still my best friend ever
‘Coz I believe, since the moment first we met
I have the sense of a long time friendshid

Exploring Sydney and Canberra

Another crazy idea come in mind. We were planning a road trip to explore Sydney and Canberra by road trip. We searched and found the information that it will take 12 hours driving from Gold Coast.

The three Joy, Rinie and I finally took the move. With the agreement that Joy would be the co-driver.

Indeed it was a nice drive. We just follow the map and keep moving from one place to another.

In te middle of driving, we were behind a trailler that climb very slowly. I quickly tried to overtake the trailer and the driver was very angry and scolded us.

I kept driving until a police car suddenly showed up from nowhere. Another experienced for driving in Australia. Never ever tried to overtake the trailer on the road coz the police will stop you.

We were fine and continue the trip straight away coz I have the translation license and we told the police that we were in hurry to find a toilet and the trailer was so slow. Another tips for driving in Australia is you don’t have to have an international license, enough with the translation for your country license from the appointed translator of Australian Police.

When you drive in Australia, please make sure that you follow the signs. Do not exceed the speed limit otherwise you’ll receive a love letter from the police by attaching some photos of different sides of your speed car.

Note the animal that crosses the highway, do not stop when seeing animal hurt on the road, unless you have other witnesses, because wild animal are very guarded in Australia or you can get the sanctioned.

image

Death Kangaroo on highway

Aihhh, the trip didn’t run as planned. Joy had no confident for driving so I have to drive my self.

But we arrived safe in Sydney. Although I was very tired and wishing to sleep all day but it will not worthed after the long drive.

Than, I decided to follow others for city tour. Luckily, Sydney’s road is narrow and hectic so I left my car aside and use busses or train instead.

We went to Sydney Opera House and taking Ferry passing the famous Sydney bridge to the. While waiting for the ferry, we were entertained with an Aboriginal man blowing didjeridu, a simple wooden tube blown with the lips like a trumpet, which gains its sonic flexibility from controllable reasonances of the player’s vocal tract.

image

Sydney Opera House

From varians sources explains that didjeridu originated in Arnhem Land on the northern coastline of Central Australia, and has some similarity to bamboo trumpets and even bronze horns developed in other cultures, though it pre-dates most of these by many millenia.

image

An Aboriginal guy blown didjeridu at Sydney Harbour

The characteristic feature is that the didjeridu, which is a slightly flaring wooden tube about 1.5 metres in length, is simply hollowed out by natural termites (“white ants”) from the trunk of one of the small trees of the region. After cutting down, the instrument is cleaned out with a stick, the outside refined by scraping and then painted with traditional designs, and the blowing end smoothed by adding a rim of beeswax.

After a while, we enter the parking ferry and crossing under the Sydney bridge to the harbourside of Darling Harbour.  And sunddenly a taxi boat crossing the line in front of Opera House. Sydney offers varians transportation and another first time experience to see a taxi boat 🙂

image

We also went to Queen Victoria Building, Town Hall, St Andrew’s Cathedral, Chinesse Friendship Garden with the Koi Pool also goes to the Powerhouse Museum and we ended up at China for Lunch.

I went home for early rest coz the next day we are going to explore Canberra. Consequently I missed the moment of visiting Manly and Bondi Beaches 😦

In the wake of my long rest, I had full energy to drive to Canberra. The drive to Canberra is easy and scenic, there are plenty of places along the way to rest, refuel and revice. It takes 3.5 hours drive from Sydney to Canberra.

image

Sydney Canberra Highway

Along the way to Canberra, we were passing the old Hume Highway through picturesque Mittagong, Bowral, Moss Vale and Sutton Forest.

Entering the Capital City Of Australia, we went to the Tourism Office to get some map and brochures. Than we continue to see the Australian War Memorial, one of the world’s great museums.

image

Canberra Australia War Memorial

It is also the premier archive and centre for research into the history of Australian involvement in War. The Memorial commemorates the service and sacrifice of all Australian men and women in wartime.

Across the museum we could have a look od the Parliement building beyond the Anzac Parade. Anzac parade is the Australian National Capital’s major commemorative way. Memorials dedicated to Australian and New Zealand service people who’ve fought and died in war line the length of the parade.

We also went to the Parliement House and Camberra Museum Art and Gallery.
